When it comes to finding the perfect bra, the latest trends can be a bit overwhelming and in fact make it harder for you to find a style that you’re comfortable with. We want to break down a few distinctive styles whilst focusing on the comfort and fit of the bras so that you can be comfortable all day, every day.
The biggest factor in finding any bra for yourself is knowing what size to go for. We understand that our bodies are constantly fluctuating, which can often make it difficult to shop in new stores. However, getting measured at your local underwear retailer is a suitable place to start, because once you know your size you can start testing out every style until you find the one that feels like you.
The T-Shirt bra
An extremely popular choice for all day comfortability. The natural shape of a t-shirt bra provides a smooth look underneath a fitted T-shirt as well as any outfit you are going for. What we love the most about some T-shirt bras is that they are often lined with memory foam so they will hug your curves like no other bra.
The Full Cup bra
For those that like the most support, a full cup bra often features not just a full cup but also a thicker and wider back and strap to give you all round comfort. For days where you want to feel secure and avoid any happy accidents, the full cup bra usually covers most, if not all, the bosom and the straps are stitched a little closer preventing them from slipping. In other words, this is definitely a favourite amongst those who have larger chests.
The Non-padded bra
Sometimes it’s nice to not feel restricted by any padding and to feel a little more exposed to the elements. It’s up to you whether you prefer non-wired or wired with this style, a wired bra will give you more shape and support whilst a non-wired would provide security but also the most natural look and feel. Personally, we believe that a non-wired, non-padded bra wins on those casual days where effortlessness is key!
The Plunge bra
For those moments when you need a bra to work with your style and not compromise on comfort, a plunge bra is a winner. Getting its name from its plunging neckline, it covers less of your bosom but that doesn’t mean it’s any less secure as they are often designed with wider cups and thicker straps. So, with the right size bra, next time you won’t have to shy away from a lower neckline.
The Balcony bra
Preferred by those with smaller chests, the balcony bra is a comfortable option with less cup. Often the cup covers half of the bosom, and the straps are placed at the edge of the cup rather than in the centre. Paired with a low-cut neckline, a balcony bra can give you the right amount of support without feeling too compressed.
